Syga Thomas

Chief Executive Officer

Syga Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer at Ensah Advisory Partners, where he leads engagement across our entire portfolio of clients.

He previously served in the American Diplomatic Service from 2006 to 2015, developing specialisations on Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as on transatlantic relations, and trade policy.  During his diplomatic career, Syga held positions in South Korea, Washington, DC, Niger, Pakistan, and Spain, with his final assignment at the State Department's Office of Multilateral and Government Affairs.

Following his diplomatic tenure, Syga took on roles as a Special Adviser to various European companies and as Director of the Thomas Foundation in 2015. He is a Columbia University graduate and holds a master's degree in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).

Dr. Carlo Gallo

Dr. Carlo Gallo is the Chief Operating Officer at Ensah, overseeing all aspects of the company's operations and strategic initiatives.

With extensive experience in guiding multinational corporations through critical investment decisions, Dr. Gallo brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Prior to joining Ensah, he founded Enquirisk and was a lead political risk analyst for Russia & the CIS at Control Risks.

Dr. Gallo holds both a Master's degree and a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Miguel Herrero Molina

Consultant

Miguel leads Ensah’s Due Diligence and Investigation division, bringing a wealth of experience from the U.S. Department of State and the NGO, The Halo Trust.

A former U.S. Diplomat and Intelligence Analyst for a private security firm in Los Angeles, he has supported Fortune 500 clients (e.g. Google, Apple, Facebook, Allen and Co.) managing risks and developing security strategies for events such as the Oscar's, and Davos Conferences.

He holds an M.A. in International Relations from the Complutense University of Madrid and speaks seven languages.

Simran Sawhney

Senior Analyst

Simran leads Ensah’s research division and is our Senior Analyst for the Global South. She specializes in the political economy of emerging markets, global conflict, and climate change.

Simran has previously worked at Civic Exchange—a global top 50 environmental think tank based in Hong Kong as well as the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

She holds an M.Sc. in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and a B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science, International Relations, and Contemporary Asian Studes from the University of Toronto.

Steve Liston

Steve Liston was senior director at the Washington, DC office of the Council of the Americas, where he manages the Trade Advisory Group, trade policy, engagement with multilateral institutions, and member outreach.

As a U.S. Foreign Service officer, Steve’s overseas postings included Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and Chile, where he was deputy chief of mission and chargé d’affaires. At the State Department, he served as director of the Office of International Religious Freedom and held a number of positions related to Latin America, including deputy national coordinator for the Summits of the Americas.

Immediately prior to joining the Council, Steve was vice president for global government relations at Equifax, Inc., a global data and analytics firm. There he crafted and executed external stakeholder relations in eleven Latin American countries, provided guidance on government relations across Equifax’s Canadian, Asia-Pacific, and European operations, and managed policy issues related to the data economy and financial inclusion.

Born and raised in California, Steve earned a bachelor’s in political economy from UC Berkeley and holds master’s degrees in law and diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and in religion from Reformed Theological Seminary. In addition to his native English, Steve is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French and Portuguese.
